01 The problem
Drug delivery still runs on
educated guessing.
A formulation scientist choosing a carrier faces dozens of usable lipids and polymers, any ratio between them, a range of drug loads, and a long list of surface modifications. Nothing on that list tells you which combinations are worth making.
So you make them anyway, characterize them, and test them. Weeks later, all you have gained is a better guess about what to try next, and a shelf of candidates that were never going to work.
